Beyond the Cap: Workforce Development
Get paid, professional experience with Micro-Internships
Students from all majors can gain real-world experience by completing short-term, paid, typically-remote, professional projects. Micro-Internships allow you to demonstrate skills while exploring potential career paths - all on your schedule.These unique projects are posted at all times of year by companies of all sizes, from Fortune 100 corporations to emerging startups. Micro-Internships move quickly, so it's important to log in regularly to see opportunities before they're gone!
Micro-Internships are facilitated via the Parker Dewey platform, connecting you with organizations in need of your skills.
Add "Scholar Career Coaching Beyond the Cap" to the Affiliations section of your profile to see all Micro-Internships that are available exclusively to you!
Micro-Internship Structure
Hours Per Project: 15 hours per project
Rate of Pay: $20 estimated hourly rate = $300 payment upon completion of the project
Number of Projects: Students can complete up to three Beyond the Cap Micro-Internships
Program Timeline
Projects are being posted now!
Fall: September 2026 through December 2026
Spring/Summer: January 2027 through June 2027
Projects may be posted and completed throughout each program period while funding is available.

Discover a diverse range of projects posted by companies across various industries.

If selected, complete the project
Complete the project by its posted deadline and submit the post-program evaluation.

Beyond the Cap will be open to any of the following:
- Current undergraduate college students residing in or affiliated with Palm Beach County or Broward County and
- Currently attending a two-year or four-year college or university in Florida
First-generation college students who did not previously participate in Scholar CC programs must reside in Florida to apply.
Participating Beyond the Cap organizations include established businesses, growing nonprofits, and social impact organizations. Preference is given to Florida-based entities.
