Micro-Internship Success Checklist

Congratulations on having been selected for a Micro-Internship!
To be as successful as possible while working on your project, make sure you follow the steps in this checklist.

If you are an international student (F-1 Student Visa),
please connect with your school's International Students Office immediately to confirm your eligibility. Do not begin working on the project until you have received approval from your school.

PLEASE NOTE:

We know you’re probably excited to share the news and get started! Just remember - while you’re welcome to add to your resume and announce on social media that you’ve been selected for a Parker Dewey Micro-Internship, make sure you ask your project supervisor before including the company’s name in any materials or announcements.

Steps for success

1. CONNECT WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR

Reach out to your point of contact at the company within 24 hours of being selected to determine the date, time, and format for a kickoff meeting.

2. FILL OUT FORMS TO GET PAID

As of May 1, 2024 Parker Dewey is using a new payroll processing system called Tipalti. You will receive an invitation to register for Tipalti within 48 weekday hours. Please click on this link to learn more about payment for your Micro-Internship.

3. REVIEW OUR TERMS OF SERVICE

Review our Terms of Service.

4. SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS

Whether it's finding a distraction-free work space or taking detailed notes during meetings, there are lots of little ways to help yourself.

5. STAY IN TOUCH

Whether via check-in meetings (agenda template), or email updates (template), use our professional communication tips to make sure your supervisor is kept up-to-date on your progress and any questions you may have.

6. USE
YOUR NETWORK

Don't hesitate to turn to your network for guidance if you run into hiccups with your project. Just be sure not to violate the Non-Disclosure Agreement detailed in the Parker Dewey Terms of Service.

7. CHECK YOUR WORK
Remember, this is a professional project that can have a real impact on someone's business. Check, re-check, and then triple-check your work using tools like Grammarly.
8. MARK YOUR PROJECT AS COMPLETE

Once confirmed by your supervisor, we'll make sure your pay is processed the next time we run payroll
